Small vibration, Very annoying!!!!!!

I have a 00' Civic DX, all stock for the most part. The motor has a tiny vibration at idle. My tach only reads from 600-10k rpm and the needle stays on 0. So i cant really tell where its at, it may be idling low. But when its cold there is no problem. Just after it heats up and the motor slows down that I have the problem.

Also, sometimes if i let off the brake it goes away...and if that doesnt work I can pump the brake and it also stops....

This wouldnt bug me but my bumper has a 3" crack in it that rattles like crazy when its shaking.

Any ideas, it also shakes a little at about 1700 rpm, no where else though....

mine used to do that. when i installed my short shifter, i noticed the heat shields on the bottom were all loose. so i tightened them up and now there fine. so try that first, and go from there.

have you checked the valve coming off the brake booster.. or the lines. sounds like the valve is leaking or there is a vacuum leak.

I dont know what the heat shields would have to do with it, its my bumper thats rattling.

As for the vacuum leak, thats what I thought when I tried pumping the brake, lines looked good but I replaced them anyway with some tubing I had from the last swap I did....but Im still having the same problem.

It doesnt really sound like its changing the idle, it just smooths it out....does really rev up any...

I would say the idle is to low my car did the same but was trying to idle at 300 rpms and sometimes 100 rpms u sit there and watch the hood of the car going up and down fast, so just turn the idle up some and see how it is after that. People would ask whats wrong with my car I would tell them I got a heavy cam :) Was fun but turned the idle up a week later and never had the problem again.

my car had a funky vibrating noise on idle. It turned out to be a A/C Hardline rubbing on the bumper support, a little bendy bendy and all fixed.

Go touch things w/ a screw driver and see if they stop the rattling.

I know for a fact it is my rear bumper cover.....

ot has a crack on the corener and sags a little. Just enough to touch my exhaust when the car idles rough...

Ive tried raising my idle buy the air intake control screw (i think) just lets more air in but doesnt raise my idle.

If i replace the bumper i will have no rattle at all...more importantly i wanna get rid of the engine vibration at idle....

im confused. if the rear bumper is on your exhaust, why are you worried about the idle, FIX THE BUMPER ???
