Re: slightly scored bores
how did that happen, doesnt look like it was run since the last hone?

Re: slightly scored bores
the chap i brought the block off had it overbored so he could fit cp pistons once it was running it only lasted 1k miles before he fked up the big ends and scored crank.
so im guessing maybe he assembled it dry or oil pump, also he didnt install the circlips for the gudgeon pin its just pressed into the rod. You think i can get away with re hone then? |
Re: slightly scored bores
Ive seen worse than that honed and getting within ten psi of the rest of the cylinders on a compression test. Just hone it unless you want to purchase new pistons. And a gudgeon pin?? wtf is a gudgeon? In the states its called a wrist pin.

Re: slightly scored bores
Cheerz buddy know ill be keeping my pistons so will hone it, its called a gudgeon pin in uk so ill remember that nxt time.
thanx |
Re: slightly scored bores
that looks more like scuffing due to a seizure of some type,
possilby heat or dry running, or out of tolerance running might be worth getting it mic'd up before and after a hone |
