Si Head SWap
Hey guys,
I noticed that once i Swapped the SOHC ZC Head onto my D15B6 Motor the car does not just start up like it used to. Used to start up fine, but now that i did the swap i have to either pump the gas pedal as i turn the ignition repeatedly which i think is bad for the car or i have to always park on a hill so i can pop start the damn thing.... You guys have any ideas on this? Jon Ps. Oh yea for those of you guys that told me that swapping my ECU out would help it run better, it does run better. My buddy had an SI ECU (Pm6?) laying around and he let me take it off his hands. |

valves smack pistons, common error

Re: Si Head SWap
check and make sure you can line up #1 TDC correctly. if not it is ur cam timing that fucks it up.
if not then check ig timing with timing light. |
Re: Si Head SWap
B6 pistons only have 2 valves reliefs, the other two valves get smacked into the piston tops...........

I remember something about late model b6 has 4 valve relief and only the early models has 2

Re: Si Head SWap
your memory is wrong.
HF aka B6 used a special crank and rods for the 1988-1991 production years. Starting with 1992, the D15B8 used a standard D15B2/B7 bottom end with the HF pistons until the stock ran out, aprrox late 92/early 93 model year. |
