Default SEdan runs hot at highway speeds WTF?

So my car has been running hot usually only at higher speeds and not really mashing on it. City driving is fine. Never over heats runs cools as ----. I did a compression test and i got 145 140 145 145 across all cylinders. BOttem end is a A6 Block with Vitaras and H Beams. Head is a stock Z6. I also did a Leak down test and it came out ok.

The only things i can think of are as follows:

Not enough coolant flow ( Thermostat maybe or hose collapsing )
Radiator to close to the DP ( literally 1/4" away from DP and is wrapped in header wrap)
Aluminum Rad not happy with heat in engine bay.

When i get home ill try removing the T-stat and see if that helps.

any input would be appreciated.

you can see the IC is clearly in the way of any air flow from the front.

gracias!

Get the raditor if you can has far has you can from the dp. You can also make a shield and thermal wrap that to block the two. This is common with all motor cars in road racing making a shield to block the exhaust heat from the raditor. 30 minute sessions at buttonwillow own

Besides that water wetter works. Also howmuch is your intercooler blocking your raditor? This is something very overlooked. If you can get your raditor has much space to breath it will do its job

Blocked with heat from exhaust no buneo.

i wanted to try watter wetter but was unsure of the safeness ( i made it up ) of using it instead of coolant.

The IC is directly in front of the Rad so this has got to be an issue. Also there has to be atleast 12" of space between the IC and rad.

SHould i run 2 fans? one in front and one in the back? otherwise, i could move the rad closer to the IC and further away from the DP. I guess ill post a pic so you have an idea of how close it is.

I would make a shield but i have no welder. Maybe with the pic i post you can MS paint me an idea of how to do so.

well since we are on the subject matter, i guess this may be why i get spikes in my temp every now and then with my motor. i dont have a heat shield on my exhaust mani and no wrap. guess it fits the bill right?

yeah , i would think so. I mean it makes sense. That Turbo and DP do emit more heat and my ALuminum Rad is probably soaking it all up and the ------- fan doesnt cool it off fast enough. I think ill run 2 radiator fans!!!
