Second Exhaust

Second Exhaust
ive been thinkin lately that i want to get a second pipe comming from around my cat that is strait 3" piping. The point being when my vtec crossover hits, the exhaust goes from a beastly rumble in low rpm's( only on hondas ) to an open header like thunder from 4500 all the way up. the best way of doing so IMO is some kind of Heavy duty butterfly valve on the original exhaust that re-routes to the 3" pipe. I have tons of ideas, but i am not a fabricator,YET. Im hoping that someone can chime in and give me some suggestions as to simplify this process with junkyard parts. I have tools enough to cut the pipe but not to weld.

Re: Second Exhaust
I used a 2.5" pipe for the exhaust on my hatch when my b16a was n/a. Goes straight back and under the gas tank and has a slight angle out the back to a 2.5" inlet canister muffler. Absolutely no restriction, worked great but the best upgrade was to cut the smaller 2" or 2.25" collector off my header and weld a 2.5" on there instead. All in all it's still pretty useless...for what little you gain out of it in n/a form all I have to do is turn my boost controller up 1 psi and make more power than what you would have gained after all that work. :P
