Rotational direction of Honda engines?
I got a question about which direction all those honda engines rotate. I heard that some of them rotate counter clockwise, whereas most normal engines rotate clockwise.
Which ones rotate clockwise and which ones rotate counter clockwise? I'm thinking about doing an engine swap in my 4x4 and am in the market for a lightweight 2.0L 4 banger to replace the 1.6, and Honda is one of the options. |

They rotate clockwise

Re:Rotational direction of Honda engines?
all front wheel drive honda except for the s2000 and the k-series rotate the oposite direction of most RWD cars or domestics.
its like this because if you put the engine on the left side, and the driver on the right( RHD in jepan), the car feels more balanced and the driver receives less vibration. They switched it recently to more suit the North american market (LHD). |
Re:Rotational direction of Honda engines?
Ok, so pulling a 2.0 or 2.2 Prelude engine and making a custom bellhousing is not an option, unless I want to go backwards really fast.

there were some guys who succesfully made a b16 run backwards on stock cams, I believe they are building a hill climber.

I thought it require re-grinding the cams or something. I thought I saw a special on the AEM's prelude powered car.
