rod bearings

ok here's my situation: i got my crank turned down .25mm, and when i was reassembling everything i noticed somehow that one of my new rod bearings had gotten a nick in it just sitting around. Not to take any chances, i had my local parts store rush me another set, although they had to get it from another brand. So one rod has federal mogul bearings, while the other 3 have acl bearings. When i started the motor up, it sounded like it had rod knock, so i pulled the rod bearings. The one oddball bearing reads 025 US on it, while the rest of them say .25mm (the right size). This one also had a little more wear on it. Federal mogul swears its the right bearing but i dont beleive them since the box says millimeters and the bearing says US. Can anyone maybe shed some light on this?

Re:rod bearings

My only guess is that they used imperial sizes. 025 US to me would be 25 thousands ? or .025 inches. which is different from .25mm.

Re:rod bearings

thats what i said too...but the guy at the parts place insists that federal mogul said its the right bearing...i dissagree. If it was in standard sizes, it would be .010, not .025....does anyone know if the rod journals are the same for a d16z6 and a d16y7? (side question)

Re:rod bearings

ok i was just on the phone with my machinist...he said the Us is for under-sized (im a dumbass)...but he is going to measure each bearing to see if its right, so we'll see if this is the problem or if my motor is fucked somewhere else. i hate cars

Re:rod bearings

ok the bearings were all the same and correct...the machinist said it sounded like my oil pump got fucked...but ive never heard what a busted one sounds like (mine sounds just like rod knock, and gets worse with load)...anyone have some insight?

Re:rod bearings

Just sell the internals to me and buy a daewoo. ;D
I really hope you find out what this madness is though, I got two of those d16y8's with bad bearings and I want to find out WTF is up with those things before I start putting my ---- back together. :)
