Simple question that I can't seem to find an answer for. It's bound to be safe at a higher RPM than the D16a6, but not sure how much higher is safe. I'm not looking for an exact number, but a "don't go past XXX or you'll be sorry" answer would be great. This would be for a stock y8 valvetrain on stock A6 block. Thanks, -Z

 

stock redline on a Y8 is 7200, about there is good i'd say.

 

Ive been at 7500 lots of times.

 

My rev limit is around 7500 on my Y8. It's hit it a bunch with no probs and I've been using this ecu for over a year.

totally man they are right I have the JDM Mini-me the D15Bvtec and it has a 7200redline and 7500revlimit

 

rev it until you can feel the power start too fall off, then shift like 300 rpms below that.

 

Don't you have to worry about the stock oil pump farting out on you?
