On the B16a it could be the FIT valve, which is on the same housing as the IACV, check your hose routing. Clean the IACV, check if the FIT valve is getting good waterflow. Change either or appropriately.

Re: reving up and down. help!

make sure throttle cable has slack in it

make sure the throttle opening is clean

those don't help, turn the idle air bypass screw all the way in, then back out 1.5 turns (just like a carb!)

Also, you'll see two holes inside the TB opening, put a fibger over both of them (like Helms sez to do)

Re: reving up and down. help!

Would a faulty brake booster cause a vacuum leak? You said it starts when you hit the brakes. I'm not too familiar with boosters, just throwing out an idea.

Re: reving up and down. help!

now see i was kinda thinkin that aslo abot the brake booster but hell idk :1

Re: reving up and down. help!

I guess the easiest way to find out, would be to unplug the vacuum line to the booster, and plug it temporarily.

Re: reving up and down. help!

this is what happen now i took the icp apart and let it warm up. jyust the hole on the side and its still suxing in air. not bad like when is starts. but it doesnt rev up and down could it be a boost leak???? when i hit my brakes when the car is sitting still the motor revs up to like 2 grand tho but doesnt jump around.

Try burning a map based on different code, IE, if you're using a P28 map switch to a P72 base.

Re: reving up and down. help!

My car did the same thing and it ended up being the crank angle or cyp sensor in the dizzy.
Try a different dizzy.
