Resurfacing the head?

What do you guys think about resurfacing the head? I had my bottom end sleved and rebuilt. Should i get the head resurfaced befor i put it back together? I didnt have any problems with the head or the head gasket befor.

You didn't say it was a 94 H22 and that wouldn't matter anyways. You can deck any block.

I would get the head surfaced anyways, just to be safe. You have a nice clean surface on the block, why not make the head the same way? It would eliminate any possible problems with a blown head gasket, ar at least greatly reduce them.

Re:Resurfacing the head?

still, the fact that the h22 is closed deck means nothing in this thread. As jigga mentioned, any block can be decked (meaning taking a little off the top)

Re:Resurfacing the head?

if you spend all those $$$ to build a block, why halfass it because of 20 bucks.

Re:Resurfacing the head?

its more than 20 at any shop near me, and in most cases, its just not necessary unless you dropped a grinder on your block or overheated the piss out of it. Its not half assing it if its not necessary.

Oh I must have misunderstood decking the block. My appologies.

Anytime I build a motor I have the block and the head decked. I think it's neccessary for my state of mind after dropping all that money on a motor. :P
