reoiling shocks
i was wondering of anyone on here has reoiled their shocks. i have read a couple of small articles about it but none really explained it in detail. also if you have what oil did you use. i was told 25w would be good for a swift i assume that it would also be good on a civic but just want to make sure. i plan on doing this when i get an extra set of stock shocks.

Re: reoiling shocks
are you talking about stock shocks? i dont believe you can even do that ???
|
Re: reoiling shocks
i thought stock shocks were oil fill. and what you do is drill a hole towards the top of the body. drain the oil into a graduated cylinder. the refill with the same amount of the new oil then plug the hole. they suggest to weld it but i was planning to put a screw in there then cover with jb weld

Re: reoiling shocks
if it aint broke don't fix it!

Re: reoiling shocks
i wouldnt do that...shocks arent that expensive, get some adjustables
|
Re: reoiling shocks
well once it warms up i am going to do it. i just dont have 400 for some ajustable shocks. i was just hoping that this had been done on something other than a swift

Re: reoiling shocks
you could possibily use fork oil. the same oil people use to service motorcycle forks..this is a guess
