removing rear spindles - impossible?
i have some integra rear brakes, actually the whole suspension sitting on the ground, i was trying to remove the spindles frmo the lower trailing arm, looks like 3 T50 torx bolts and one 24mm nut in the middle
the nut was no problem for my weak impact, the torx i think might be a problem, i just broke a brand new t50 torx socket thing, anyone got these off ever? how did you do it? |
Re: removing rear spindles - impossible?
they can be removed...seen it done...
|
Re: removing rear spindles - impossible?
why do you need to remove the spindles?
swap the whole arm and be done. |
Re: removing rear spindles - impossible?
Iv done it on my civic(girlfried vs corner of wall) heat the area up then hit it with the ppen lube, put the T50 on and wack it with a hammer a few time(this helps shock it free) then turn away. plus get a good torx socket. mine can take a impact gun

Re: removing rear spindles - impossible?
mine couldnt take a impact gun thats forsure.
so i guess the whole gsr trailing arm will go into my 96 civic, i thought they were differnt lengths and would mess up my suspension geometry, maybe i wont need to mess with those t50's after all http://www.hazone.com/hdiscswap.htm |
Re: removing rear spindles - impossible?
you have to have heat thats #1
|
Re: removing rear spindles - impossible?
just heat the area AROUND the torx bolt and impact it
