removing the crankshaft
 
has anyone ever done this? any tips on it? im buying a built block but it has some spun bearings so the crank needs to be removed and im putting in a brand new crank.

might wanna see what else the spun bearings messed up before buying this thing. as for tips: loosen the bolts, remove the crank. make sure you get all new seals and clean the ---- outta everything, and get the proper bearings

i plan on puttin in new rods/bearings/crank, and probably new rings for the pistons as well

then whats "built" about this block?...is it sleeved?

Obviously the main caps have to come off, oil pump and rear main seal cover. As GT said, replace both your front and rear main seals when re-installing.

If your gonna be replacing all that ---- anyway, the crank is gonna be just one of the things that come off. Just save and mark all the bolts. lol

how does this sound, godzilla sleeves 1.7l, JE pistons, eagle rods (spun bearings) crank needs replacing, act 6 puck clutch/flywheel. 900, everythin had 4-5k on it. sound like a straight deal?
