the real way involves a tool that fits inside the pulley where its shaped like a hexagon, otherwise try the breaker bar/buddy on the brakes idea or man up and get an impact gun. You will use the gun a lot and it will pay for itself when you are doing axles nuts, crank pulleys, flywheels, etc
i would buy an impact wrench but i have to keep my car running let alone by a impact wrench with no air compressor....i fund my car and my tools with a shitty job at the age of 17 ...good jobs are hard to find....thanks i'll try the 5th gear thing
I got mine off with a breaker bar and a torch. Heat the bolt up, get a good, long breaker bar and give it hell. You have to shock it loose, applying more and more pressure slowly won't break it loose.
Also, The easiest way to keep the flywheel from turning is to jack up the car and unbolt the flywheel cover. I used a wrench as a bracket, bolted the wrench to the flywheel then the tranny case. Mista Bone posted a nice picture demonstrating it, trying searching his past post's or PMing him.

Go by the nearest tire shop/garage and have them break it loose with a impact gun[couple bucks cash in hand] then drive home at moderate rpm and you can then use a breaker bar or 1/2 inch ratchet depending on how big your arms are.
