Re:removing a/c

i think you need to drain the fluint out first, the rest is just unbolting clamps and bolts...

Re:removing a/c

Sledge hammers, the universal tool.

Re:removing a/c

yeah, just be sure to drain/discharge the coolant, then, just disassemble.

be sure not to breathe in the refridgerant, as it displaces oxygen in your lungs (settles to the bottom) and would kill you :)

Is there any lines that have to be plugged and does the whole thing just kind of pull out with no openings?

turboDXcoupe 03-31-2004 12:17 PM

Re:removing a/c

oh there are 4 lines that you will need to remove
2 fat ones where you bleed it from and 2 small ones on the right hand side its a silver canister next to your wiper fluid should be make sure there is no more presure or you will get it all over you i bleed mine out but there was little preasure still but it still pop off so be careful..... :-[

I got my A/C discharged yesterday... Apparently there wasn't much of anything in there and am doing the deinstall tomorrow. Can't wait!!! I can actually put my mani & turbo & IC in and see how it all fits!

Re:removing a/c

Take the cap off, and slowly put a screwdriver in it. Or bring it to my house and I'll do it for $7,000. 8)

Re:removing a/c

heh, I just put a small rock in the "shrader" valve (the little valve on the line with a cap) and screwed the cap back on until it was completely drained. Only took about 5 minutes, go grab a beer and relax for that 5 and you'll be ready to rock and roll when you come back. ;)
