Rear Strut mounting bolt
Anyone know where to get one of these other than Honda?
It connects the rear LCA to the Strut. It is a JIS style, M10x1.25x184.
My local Honda dealer wants $11.99/ea and Majestic Honda wants ~$6.50/ea plus $15 s/h.
It has to be 10.9 (grade
, that is the bitch of it. I have some 8.8's in there now and I want to get to the right bolt sooner than later.
Napa, John Deere implement dealerships, Fastenal, and Auto Value are all useless so far.

This bolt is so typically seized in the midwest, there's a "shock mounting" kit available for it. It only really makes sense if you need a new bushing too, it costs too much for just the bolt. Both of mine were seized in addition to an outer LCA bolt which was a bitchface to cut out.

I still cringe thinking when I did my shocks and springs. Fronts were cake and the rears I wanted to cry. Bolts snapped and part of the bolt was completely rusted inside the metal sleeve of the bushing. My cousin got some grade 10.9 bolts and was able to have the maintnance guy at his work make a new sleeve alittle bit bigger then the old sleeve and we pressed it back into the old bushing. It was on a weekend and I needed it by monday for work otherwise I would of just went to the dealership. As for getting one from the yard...getting any susp/underbody stuff from a car in the junkyard in the midwest is
rust..rust and more rust. He got my bolts from his work but our local hardware store carries automotive grade bolts in there hardware section.

Illuminas and Neuspeed springs all around nukka. It feels good not to be on blown stock shocks.
lol good to see im not the only one that had to cut out my lca on my honda. next car i did shocks on this PB blaster was my friend. dont' fool with wd 40 on this stuff. Just take and squirt everything really got with the pb, wait half an hour, squirt again, wait half an hour then do work.
i just took the one good bolt out of like 6 that didn't break to my local hardwear store and found one close enough. its fully threaded, but it fit the hole just fine. and about those bushings, don't take them to someone to have them pressed unless you dont feel like fooling with them. I just drill out the rubber around the sleve and then pop the sleve out. then hacksaw the shell in two places, grab a chisel and hammer and get them all the wya out. then its energy suspension and a vice ftw. saves money if you have the time.
ps, might want to check your rear trailing arm bushing while you got everything off. i'm gonna order a set of those for my eg off summit here this comming week. only $31 plush shipping.
