Is real light flywheel always better ??
 

I was using a ACT street lite 11lb flywheel in my old Turbo ZC. I loved the way it rev.ed and was going to go with the same thing. Well I blew the ZC up and now I have a b16. I was going to get the same thing until my friend put the same flywheel in his B16 and it doesn't rev. as fast as my old ZC did even with out the turbo. I was going to go with a ACT pro lite 8lb or Fidenza 8lb flywheel but I know there are some draw backs with going with a lighter then 11lb flywheel like Hp or torque loss and high end I believe. Someone help me decided and shed light on your own experences and what I shoulg go with either a 11lb like before or a 8lb. Also I was going to siwtch from my old ACT solid disc. to a 6puck now anyone here using a 6 or 4 puck on their street car. Thanks.

if you go too light and don't shift quick enough your engine will fall out of the desired rpm range. I don't have any experience with it, that's just what I've heard.

It does stall sometime when you come to a stop and it is damn easy to peol out and rev quick.

Thanks it looks I'll will be going with a ACT 8lb flywheel and a 6 Puck SPRUNG hub clutch.. That is true about the RPM's falling out if you don't shift fast enough but I think of myself of a VERY good Racer/Driver and always get consitant times and good numbers at the track. You have to really sometimes have a feel for the car and alot of times I find myself at the track just by sound shifting right before my shift light comes on. I guess when you have been racing the same car for 3 years you kind of get it that way. But we'll see how it goes. If I don't like it I will just switch back. Thanks.

ya for a street car its easy to kill it with a light flywheel and high grip clutch. but its also easy to get the revs going and do a nice burnout. it just makes you car a little less driveaboe in traffic but is way worth it. i have a 9lb flywheel and act sprung clutch and i love it, cant wait to try it with the turbo kit.

I would never use a puck clutch on the street.they wear out quick.

Im not too pig on puck clutches. You can get full face clutches that can handle 350ish ft-lbs torque, and your not going to making more than that ($$$ permiting) on a 1.6-1.8l

The clutch engagment for daily driving would blow too much ass...IMHO.

You ALL make good points but it just like I said I have a A ACT HD Pressur plate and a clutch that could up to 250 LB FT of torque and after only 7 months I could start to feel it wasn't grabing as hard plus when I put the turbo on it I could really feel it and I went threw the whole brake in period and was easy on it for the first two months. Like I said I'll try it and if I don't like it I'll switch. Also I don't lve in California anymore so traffic out here in maryland sometimes isn't that bad in certain spots. Almost like going to K-Mart on Christmas eve. :) Any way Also IS THIS TRUE.. I remember reading somewhere that with a Puck clutch there is no break in period. Basicly ACT said all you have to do is a nice launch or burn out and your done. Is this true or if not what type of break in period is required with a puck ? Thaks for all your guys feed back and help.
