Default Quick questions about a civic

Well, like i said i had a few questions. I got the opportunity to get a 91 hatchback w/ a 4 speed. The thing is that it is dual point injection and i thought that is was supposed to have multi-port injection? Um.. will that d15 head fit onto a a6 block? Also, being the base model, is this car have the regular spindals(as in dx and si crx ones) or the small Hf crx ones.... also, is the 4 speed just like the 5 speed trannies in # of splines? so that i can use any flywheel and cluctch like the one i have from a 95 ex.... also this one has a sunroof... and i don't think its supposed to, is it??. Thanks for the feedback...

as far as I know (this isn't all for certain) the spindles are hf size, I'm not sure enough on the rest to be giving answers.

I've got an 89 std, which is what you're looking at. The sunroof was a factory option, so they must have added it. The spindles are the same as the DX/Si, so no worries about the stepchild HF spindles. The STD is basically a DX with less hp, at 72, if you go mpfi, and throw a dx or si cam in there, plus a normal exhaust manifold or turbo, it'll basically be a 1.5 Si motor. The STD has the D15B1, DX D15B2, and Si D16A6, the heads are identical except for the cams, mainly that and the manifolds that are different between them. The 5 spd swaps out like any 90+ civic, get a dx or Si tranny and swap away. When I bought my civic, the lot (cool guys) didn't want a 4 spd on the lot, so they swapped a 5 spd dx in, I've got an si in there now, but going back to dx with quaife for turbo.

Get and have some fun, it's a descent car, and you can use the stock manifold to turbo for cheap if you want.

yeah, the guy wants like 450 or so for it, but the max i will pay is like 350ish... it has dents, a really fucked up hood that is held down by like 6 randomly placed hoodpins, no turn signals, fucked up interior and needs new exhaust... oh, by the way, since my crx will no longer need the tiny exhaust it has on it, what is needed to get that ---- onto the civic, is there a longer straight pipe needed or is it the same size? But, it within my price range, and as far as i know, it will drive. Gonna go check it out again after my physics final (finally, my last one! i probboly should be studying since i need an on it to get the a in the class) and gonna testdrive it to see if it is worth it. damn... a fifth car!!!! gotta get rid of some of the other ones! oh and Jockette, thanks! site bookmarked and literture is prined!

That made my day, simply awesome.

For the crx exhaust, the mid pipe is just a bit longer on the hatch, I believe the back section is the same. good luck on the Final, I've got 2 left... The hatch is an awesome winter car, especially when you just don't give a damn.
