question on intake mani
hey last night was really tired and dont know how but ended up breaking 2 out of the 3 bolts that hold the fuel rail in off of intake manifold. Do I need to get a new intake mani now or is there a way to fix this. Sorry if this isnt in right section but didnt know were else to put it and I know most people look in this section. Well thanks for the help! Also if anyone has a y8 or z6 intake mani lemme know! Nick
should be in engine tech, but awell, ,too late i guess..
you broke the head of the bolts off and it's still threaded in the IM.. you can drill it out and then re-tap it.
OR
if the bolt isn't flush or below the surface level of the IM you can dremel a notch in it and use a flat head screw driver to turn it out.

not sure if you can back the studs out or if they're part of the mani, but i know that i lost two of the nuts once and only had mine holding on by one also, and it was fine
even if you can't back them out, you can grind them flush and tap a little hole and screw a litte stud in there, those are basically you're only options. oh yeah, for next time, those don't have to be torqued down much at all
