question about 5speed conversion

Default question about 5speed conversion

i just recently made my car 5speed everything works great, just like if it was suppose to be 5speed, but i cant start the car with the key, i have to bump the start cause inside it still thinks the car is automatic theres 2 wires i need to connect to confuse the car but i dont kno what wires does anyone kno, i was just gonna put a push button start in, but if someone knos what wires then ill do it the right way

I have no idea which wires they are. however if you gave me some more info i could help you out. If you have the manual ecu and you have your starter wiring hooked up to the ignition, it should be cranking.. Does your car do this? whatyear is your car?

yes i have manual ecu, and the starter is hooked up, it doesnt crank when i turn the key, only way i can start it is turn the key to the on postion and bump the starter witha screw driver, my car is a 96 civic ex

did you change the pass. side tranny mount welded to the frame?

get a new starter, it sounds like the solenoid on the one you have is shot

thats sounds like what i had with my old car ,sometimes it would turn on and sometimes i would have to get out and beat the ---- out of the starter get a new one

do you swap ecu's? automatic transmissions have a neutral start switch that is wired to the starter, that could also be the problem. those wires should just plug into the existings ones tho? i think you might need to have someone who knows what they're doing fix it, not yourself

yea i agree, did you remove the tranny gear selector switch? I took mine and left it in park so the car always thinks its parked... now the car starts in 1st gear

there should be two thick blk/wht wires going to where the gear select lever was... connect them and i think it should work (unless honda changed the neutral safety switch design).

yup yup.. you obviously dont have to push the clutch in to start it you're using a screw driver. (or you are REALLY flexable). Attach those wires together where the PRND12 selector was.
