The installation is fairy straight-forward.

First, rip apart ignition, unplug all wires.

Next, pull the wires really hard so there is a lot of slack.

Then, connect any random combination of wires to the button.

Finnally, start your car up and be the coolest dude on the block.

damn, you guys are mean... maybe this dudes ignition is just fucked.

i know a guy who had to get a momentary switch(pushbutton start) cuz his ignition was fucked and wasn't sending enough power to the starter. the starter would act like it wants to start the car, but you could hear how weak it was. it only cost him less than $10 from radio shack for the switch and misc ----, so you dont have to buy some expensive bullshit "type r" pushbutton start. anyways, the pushbutton fixed his problem cheaper than a new ignition. kinda ghetto but it worked.

LOL, yeah on a 2000 honda civic EX maybe the ignition already broke down. Also the switch has absolutly NOTHING to do with how much power the starter is getting. Their is no resister or anything in a button. Sorry bad excuse try again!!!

When I pay bums to push my car I at least have the courtesy to use second or third gear. That way I don't get bum faceprints on my dusty hatch.

ok, i missed the part about it being a 2000 model. i dont really care about this dudes ignition anymore... however, as far as the momentary switch having nothing to do with how much power the starter was getting, you're wrong. that did fix the problem - no bullshit. i dont know how he wired his ---- exactly, but i do know his car starts now. before he could try forever, and his car would never start. his car sat in his driveway for like two weeks before this guy we know told him to hook up a momentary switch, and helped him do it. i can ask him exactly how his stuff is wired up if you still think im bullshitting, but it did have something to do with how much power the starter was getting because his car isnt sitting in his driveway useless anymore.

this is a very easy point to prove, every type of electronic powered item needs a certain amount of juice to be used correct? correct. now lets say you try and hook up a 18 gauge wire to a Sony 1000 watt rms amplifier, you think you are really gonna hear your bass ? or you think that the lil protection light is going to kick on and hear the sound of god calling you a dumbass ? ill go for door number 2. if you look under the hood, you will see the starter sylinoid connected with a black wire with a white line, that wire is somewhere in the ball park of 8-10 gauge. now run a piece of 14-18 gauge speaker wire to it from the positive and watch your hand burn and scar in seconds. i thought that most people on this board knew about cars. but hey, at least you people think you are kewl by calling people ricers, hmm i have a huge sticker on my hood that is considered ricey right ? is 12 seconds ricey too ? yeah i thought not. good luck mounting that b16 in your moms pinto. with that, nuff said, he wants a push button switch, leave him be, S2000's are equipped with them, that makes them rice ? didnt think so. and im out.

you can't put a remote start on a stick, you need to depress the clutch, or rig the sensor so it thinks you are.
