I'm at the point where I need to get the main crank pulley off and the clutch off. What is a good way to hold everything in place so i can break these bolts?

hey bro, to get the crank pulley off, you need to get a fair sized ratchet and axle nut 1 1/4 or 34mm i believe socket. Then put a pole or breaker bar over it and let it get stuck against the ground. If you have the tranny off you can lock up the flywheel bolts, i wouldnt do it with the pp bolts. However the crank pulley is torqued more then the flywheel so sometimes this doesnt work, get a thin walled pole and stick it into the flywheel, then spin it till it jams in the ground, 19mm for b series, 17mm socket for d series and voila.... the pulley is off... and repeat procedure for the flywheel/pp bolts.

You can also use a "flywheel wrench"... Moroso makes one. It's about 60 or 70 bucks from Summit Racing. It's a long pipe with a large hexagonal nut welded to the end. You just stick that into the crank pulley and then your sockets through the nut. Mine works well, but you have to lower the engine a litte with the upper mount to get the nut in. I don't know if all Civics are like that or if it's just mine (remnant of an old accident).

If you have your clutch off, you can stick a screwdriver through a hole in the flywheel and use the block to stop it from turning.

People will also suggest putting the car in 5th and having someone step on the brakes.

I think Honda has a tool you can bolt to the block that has teeth to engage your flywheel from the bottom. I'm really tempted to get it some days...
