PROBLEMS!! Help me out people
Ok, so i have a few problems...with my car that is haha.
first one is i think i might have a bad map sensor. In my earlier thread, I was talking about the bogging out at 1500-2000rpm, but now I have a CEL on (its the cat O2 sensor) and I have a solid idle at 1k, never drops below it, even when its fully warmed up, been drivin all day, steady at 1k (maybe thats due to me removing the ac???) and now since the CEL came on, theres no more bogging. Could the bogging be due to an exhaust leak in the header? Cuz i believe I have a SMALL one, but not CERTAIN. OR do you think the cat is getting clogged and the sensor isnt bad, cuz when i checked the cat o2 sensor they told me it was a bad sensor and that the cat looked 100% fine. Second is i think i am getting blow by. For some time now i have had to clamp on my spark plug wires tot eh valve cover becasue they would pop off when i would run the engine. I checked the plugs and they are still in the head tightly, not loose at all, and they looked clean when i took them out, no detonation evidence, and looked to be a clean burn. maybe the gasket is bad??? i have takent the cover off a few times and never replaced the gasket. |

which explains your 1k idle and possibly your bogging. |

The only time I ahve had a problem with plug wires poppin out is when i was 16 and just bought my civic. A plug wire poped out. The plug wasnt set properly in and was kinda cocked. Reinstalled new plug never had a problem again. O2 code means o2 is bad just plain and simple. A poorly runin car can ruin a cat very fast and hinder performance and make the car sluggish
