WTF is that?!?!? only seem to hear it when its "hot" my coolant temps are very much cool (like 170-180*), but like after a do a pull, let off when crusing at 80mph on the freeway (may just be when im hearing it, im still open DP)...

not a 100% but i wouldnt worry its sound like the throttle or exhaust emptying.

yeah... that was my second thought (after "oh ---- my car is falling apart"). my CRX use to make that sound (little quiter) with my 3inch exhaust, the flex section use to make the noise...

but the thing is, me and Dave rapped the ---- out of this car ALL day tuning it, had it on the dyno, then at the track, etc and i never heard it make this noise? a day or so after the track i started noticing it. the only thing diff was that i put a little race gas in it at the track 'just in case'... but all that should be gone, i have since filled the tank with 92...

Best thing to do would be to bust out a mechanics stethoscope and find out were it is coming from.

lol...you know why that video was at night and seemed to be every quick? because i cant reproduce this when i want. i drove it around tonight to see if it was indeed coming from somewhere in the exhaust on the heat expansion/contraction theory... didnt do it, the trip was further than before, and was able to do several short pulls the same as the one that produced the video...

its got to have something to do with heat in the engine bay. but idk... my fan is on 'racing' status (jumpered on all the time) so there is aways air flowing threw the engine bay. and obviously when i do a pull air is coming in right? umm... i do have one more thing i might try......

You're talking about the 3-4 rapid ticks on the 4th rev right as the idle catches? At the same time the injectors turn back on from decel fuel cut.
The audio does it no justice, but it sounds like a head noise in the video. Atleast you dont hear it on tip in and as the motor crests at a rev point, ala bottom end noises.
Dude, slam a stethoscope on there, you'll find it in no time. FYI, the Harbor Freight stetho's are exactly like the snap-on ones, but cost like $2.99. Hit em' up on lunch break yo'
