POS YS1 Tranny wont stay in gear!

Today I was coming back from Toronto from seeing the GF and on thie highway my transmission started acting up, it came out of 5th, so I'm thinking WTF?, I put it back in gear and continue driving, about a hour later, same thing, this time I put it back in gear and it pops out again. it does it more when under heavy load like accelerating up hill, the syncros were all fine, I never had a problem with 5th before up untill now, the only bad gear I had was 3rd, it crunched a bit.

This is only happening to 5th, all the other gears seem fine, I'm going to double check to make sure I have sufficient amount of fluid, I know that my left axle seal leaks a small bit but I also check the fluid weekly and add more if I have to, never had this kind of a problem before. The trans is a YS1 off a 92+ Integra.

mine did that in my stock dx tranny. My synchros and gears were fucked. Mine did it in 2nd and 5th. like in 2nd if I floored it, as soon as I let off the gas it slamed back out. 5th just did it whenever.

Fifth gear synchro, outer mainshaft bearing, inner countershaft bearing.

Typical 88-91 B failure.

If you find the 92 GSR (large spline) needs 5th gear brass, I might have it.

OK, anyone else wanna add useless info?

Congrats on the kid man *thumbs up* how old is he now?

Ok, I put some Lukas Oil in the tras, hopefully it holds up for a bit, I noticed only 5th gear does this and it only does it on the highway when things really heat up, I was driving around this morning for abour an hour and it gave me no problems. I'm hoping this works untill I find either another trans or go back to a D16Z6, B series engines tend to get pricy when ---- breaks, and in the case of the B18, for the extra power it has over a Z6 stock for stock its not worth the extra gas consumption.

well it does pull hard off the line, thats about it, anything over 2nd gear and youre pretty much just as fast as a Z6, now throw in a 1st gen SIR trans and its a whole different story.
