pistons, to offset or not to offset, that is the questions

I'm looking at getting some forged pistons. I know forged pistons suck, particularly when cold, but I don't want to break my turbo engine again. So I'm going to make the sacrifice. Just curious, how bad is it anyway? Is it going to sound like my engine is falling apart? I've never had forged anything so I have no idea what to expect. That's my first question.

Secondly, and my main question:
I can't decide whether to get the wiseco 8.5:1 for the offset pins, or some CP 9.0:1. I know the stock pistons are offset, and I know they have very good reasons for doing that, economy and emissions amongst them. I'm just wondering how much of that has to do with durability? Are the offset pins a feature that will actually make the pistons perform or endure better? The Wiseco pistons are quite a bit less expensive, but I really don't want to lower my cr that much (even FI) without a good reason. Whaddya think?

Damn, I was just reading up on some pistons. Here's a comparison sheet with all the leading brands:

With my forged pistons I didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. ??? I've heard that some people do, buy I didn't notice anything.

I've heard that SRP's are loud when cold due to the high silicon contest which results in great expansion? Anybody know much about this?
