people who have blown headgaskets... need INFO
for the people here that have fucked rings or broke ring lands or blown headgaskets... how'd your car run after and did it blow smoke out the exhaust? did you blow a lot of air out of the valve cover breather? blow white smoke out the exhaust? run like ---- at idle but ok everywhere else?
i need some info... i think i may have blown a headgasket... |

o yea, it sound like u have crack rign land. my car was blowing alot of smoke out of my exhaust, lots of pressure out of my brather filter and some pingng noise. i did a did a leak down test and found 70% leak on my #3 cyclinder. took the engine apart and found 3 crack pistons.

When I blew the rings in piston #2 there was a shitload of smoke coming from the valve cover breather. So much I couldn't breathe in my car it was so bad. I ended up running a tube from the valve cover to the side of my car so I didn't have to breathe it in. The exhaust smoke wasn't that bad or I didn't really notice it compared to the blowby smoke.
My compression was 180 180 100 180 When I blew my head gasket everythign was fine except when I really got on the engine I'd get the sweet smell of burning coolant. I also had to fill it up once a week but that really wasn't that bad. I very light white smoke out the exhaust and bubbles in the radiator. The idle was never affected in both instances. HTH |

HTH i have to get it some time, because i got some oil in the spark plug holes and it might be that ---- just still burning off. |

Johnnys dad is going to ------- kill him, haha, just blame it on the super tuner dave with his super agressive timing maps ;)

just blame it on the super tuner dave with his super agressive timing maps Here's Johnnys boost ignition map. Same amount of timing that was run on Dustins car, and another friend of mines LS. http://a3.cpimg.com/image/2B/64/3462...-020000D3-.jpg Sorry to hear Johnny. Dude, do a compression test and get back. |

hahahhahah!!!
when i got my D15b1 it had cracked vavle and perp who owned the car befor me drove on it for a while. so when i got the head shaved down and rebuilt it blew the ring. i was blowing smoke like a crop duster. i even got pulled over on the way to the shop.!!! lol ( fiegned ignorance ) i did gehtto re ring job honed pulled the head and oil pan off. tooke some shop cloths wrapped the crank up ( i didn't take it out.) then put carboard at the bottum and honed the cylinders out with ( 10w30 and Cylinder hone ) then cleaned out the cyclinders with Wd40 spray. clean the pistons up with Zylonal ( only thing i had ) washed clean sprayed WD 40 install rings with Total seal ( 2nd gapless type ) and put all back to gether. i note there was nice cleve mark from the piston skirt cutting the bottum of the cyclinder ( owner befor me didn't run with oil all the time ) i did compression test 245psi...ahhh ----!! 245 248 243 247 <--- those where the numbers... few months later ingested some water and scattered the block.( holes on both sides ) falkhen |
