Overheating

So I put in a D16A replaced the thermostat, all new gaskets, and a sleeve saver on my ek and drove it for about 350miles and started to get a little overheating problem to where it went about 20-40 degrees hotter and then would drop back down to normal, so i thought it was the pump sticking so i got a new 1 replaced it again, and it still does it, when it overheated the first time i noticed when i got home that there was coolant sprayed in the bay, so i thought the radiator cap was jsut fucked up or sommin, so i got a new 1, drove it, overheated again so i drained the radiator to make sure there was no air in the lines refilled it drove it for about 50 miels, overheats again, so im clueless on what it is, if its air int he lines or just some shady hose, well im hopin someone can help cuz i want to boost my car but not if its bein shady, got the hole kit waiting for my car to stop bein a deuche, thx

does it get cooler when your driving? there should be an air bleeder on near the thermostat, when the engine is running crack it a lil till water comes out.

I looked for the bleeder when i drained it and didnt see a bleeder, is it right enxt to the stat? It isnt the bolt with the grounds connected to it is it?

Some d-series blocks don't have the little bleed valve. Just run to the junkyard and snag one off a block that has one or just bleed it at the radiator cap opening with the car running and crank the heat.

Its on the neck for the top rad hose. Also check to see if the fans's working.
How is there now way the thermostat is sticking? Just cause its new doesnt mean its not bad.

I replaced it when i first dropped the motor in and it overheated so i got another 1 and replaced it again, so thats 2 new stats deuchin up, its gotta b air or the sleeve saver not lettin enough flow

Re: Overheating

well try and bleed it, it may help. But there 100's of reasons thats can cause overheating. But good luck with it.

Re: Overheating

So we have ruled out the sleeve saver? cuz the openings for the coolant to flow is cut off 75% with it in there
