overboring.. oem size still good?

I have a set of 9:1cr JE pistons with total seal rings for a B18C1 oem size I just bought reacently from a guy... Now I believe I damaged a piston ring & it may have caused damage to the cylinder wall... Now if I have to overbore a little to fix the cylinder, I can still use the JE pistons right?

take the motor apart and see how bad the damage is...honing will take out a decent knick but overboring is the right way. But then yes, you need pistons that are meant for an overbore(thats why they make them).

How bad is the scare/nick? Most ball hones should clean it up. Is the engine all back together? One thing sucks about piston rings, if you ---- up just 1 ring, you normally have to buy a entire set.
