How long does it take oil to turn from its yellow clear color to its dark black color? Question coming from I just changed my oil when I installed my turbo and 50 miles later its black. Just making sure this isnt a sign of something wrong. I guess this is the right forum for this topic.

 

---- that all depends on the oil.... i change my oil and 1000 miles later it was still an amber color.... then like around 2500 it started turning black....

Did you use that engine flush before you change your oil? and filter? because if your oil system is really dirty when you add new oil your just gonna get it dirty again. unless you remove the oil pan and clean up all the sludge thats on it.

 

I cleaned out the pan. And changed the filter. But didnt use any type of flush.

 

Mine turned dark almost right away.. I think its just old oil thats left in the system.
