to what wire do i plug the signal of the oil/psi gauge on a crx si 91

mechanical - neet to T it off at the sender unit (usual location)

electrical - need a sensor

There could also be a pos/neg for a backlight on it... you're not talking about that are you?

it has pos/neg then next to that it has an s which i believe is the signal wire
so i dont really now if its electrical or mechanical a friend gave it to me!!!

If there's just a pos, neg, and a "signal wire", then it's a mechanical gauge, and the pos and neg are for the back light.

If it were electrical it would have a pos and neg for the light, plus an ignition, signal, and neg for the sensor as well. There would be 5 connections if it were electrical. At least that's how my autometer electronic oil press gauge is.

That's what I meant by "signal wire" he's probably looking at the fitting, because if it were electrical there would be three terminals.

ive never dealt with a mechanical before but y would it have a signal wire if the oil is run directly into the gauge?

its electrical it doesnt have any kind of tube coming to the gauge thats all so i think its electrical and no he didnt give me a sending unit
