oil pan gasket question

Default oil pan gasket question

ok so i think im awake now and really to go swap my oil pan, i have one of the gaskets from pep boys. Do i still need to use silicone stuff? i really dont want anymore leaks :P

oh ----. i did mine yesterday and just smered some motor oil on it. Hope i'm ok

They always leak on me unless I put some silicone in the corners. Your probably ok though. Ive never used motor oil on and oil pan gasket...lol

permatex for life, ---- gaskets. Use that ---- everywhere including your intake manifold. Make your own "HEAT SPACER" out of that ----

Ive never heard of permatex. Where can I get it?

You've probably seen it, but never heard of the name. http://www.permatex.com/ It's just real good silicone (almost as good as the black toyota ----) at very cheap prices . Get it at your local autozone or oreilly or any car parts place actually .

GOD DAMMIT!!! the back of my new pan is still leaking! i used alot of the red (hi-temp) permatex ---- AND a gasket, its not dented or anything do i just need to let it dry ?
