oil leak

I swapped the head on my B18B1 due to a bent valve. I bought a B18A1 head that had been rebuilt. I put it on torqued everything evenly and according to spec. I have not ran the engine at all because I need a harness for the swap into the civic. I was putting oil in and noticed it was running right out from the coolant line nipple on the intake manifold. The nipple is the one that is below the dist next to the return hose from the heater core I believe. Either way it is right next to the PCV valve and I dont understand what could be causing this. I have asked few people and noone seems to know. I will pull the head tomorrow to see what I can find, I was just wanting to see if anyone here had an idea. Thanks...oh bty im new on here JIC...names Richard I have a 92 Civic hatch. Later

Re: oil leak

Well im guessing noone has any ideas about this. Oh well, I think the problem is that I have the wrong HG (thanks autozone). I have everything removed and will pull the head back off in the morning to see what is really the problem. If anyone is interested or not ill post my findings. lol. I will also be repinning the connectors at the engine since some of them did not line up from the civic to the integra harnesses. I just have to figure out what goes where or use the D motor connector. later

Re: oil leak

Yes its a coolant nipple...but why would there be oil coming out of it? I pulled the head off and checked everything I can see and nothing appears to be cracked or wrong. I am wondering if there is a crack inside the head I cant see.

Coolant...oil. Pssh it's all fluid. Just put a barb fitting on your oil cap. Then run a hose from the nipple to the barb fitting on the cap. Recycle that ----.

Re: oil leak

If it were only that simple....lol

I pulled the head and could not see anything wrond. I cleaned everything up and put it back together and the oil drained into the pan and not out of the manifold. IDK what I did different but im glad it worked, LOL

Now to rewire the harness at the strut tower so my injectors will fire lol

I have to say that's a first in my book though. I've never seen oil come from that hole before. Hopefully everything is good to go.

Re: oil leak

Well it turns out the head the guy sold me was warped big time. Not enough to see but enough to cause alot of problems. I pulled the head again and swapped the valves and springs with the old head I took off due to bent valves and guess what......no more mixing of fluids or leaking from the coolant lines. I should have just swapped the valves to begin with. So much for the easy way out. Now I just need to see about getting some of my money back for all the trouble.
