so here's the story....just finished puttin the b16 back together and back in the car. the ONLY problem w/ it is an oil leak i've got. it's right underneath the vtec solonoid, but it's coming from in between the head and block. now, i know i'm prolly gonna have to pull the head off to figure out what the hell is up, but i've just got a couple questions first. first off, i've got a cometic hg squished in there....will i be able to re-use it and just slap the head back on, or do i need to pick up another one? and also, i was at a car show the other day, and saw another b16 w/ the SAME oil leak....is this some kinda common problem or somethin??

 

I see it every so often. Anything from a VTEC solenoid leak, misaligned dowel pin, dowel pin that hasn't been shortened after milling/decking, etc.

 

yeah, deff. not comin from the solonoid. what should i do about the head gasket? replace it, or just slap it back on

 

I think everyone has had the same oil leak who gives a ---- I bet most of the time its not the HG, valve cover, Vtec solenoid, Dizzy O-ring would be my first choice.

 

i've looked around alot, and i'm almost positive it's not comin from anything else. i'm gonna pull the solonoid and dizzy off real quick and check it out, but i might end up sayin ---- it like you guys
