oh my god...this sux...

so i've been boosted for about 500 miles ( b16a crx) 8-10 psi stock internals 60 trim t3, anyway, it runs fine, good afr's in vaccum and boost ( turboedit) i did a compression test before i boosted it 195 psi across the board, now after only 500 miles, 165 psi across the board, and if you pull the oil cap off when running theres mad crank case pressure blowing out the cap, and every time i change the oil i get fuel in it less than 40-50 miles later, i have litterally only raped it about 12-15 times, this doesnt make any sense??? i thought crank case isnt breathing good causing blow by, but the pcv valve seems to be opening and working right ( hooked up stock) and the valve cover breather is just to the atmosphere, theroreticlly if you leave the pcv stock, and just let the valve cover vent to the atmosphere, the pcv valve will block boost and it can still breath through the valve cover, iknow the right way is to set up a catch can and what not, but i know PLENTY of boosted hondas that never did that and left it the way mine is, and raped it for 9-12 months before they started getting blow by, or popped the motor....wtf is going on here? my motor is gonna be toast in no time flat.......this sux :'(

timing

Re: oh my god...this sux...

more specific?

Re: oh my god...this sux...

you have too much timing in your map

Re: oh my god...this sux...

uhm... did you make his map or did you see his map? sorry... I dont follow...

Re: oh my god...this sux...

No, fact that he his losing compression so fast is a result of detonation and from my experince to much timing will do this

make sense, but figured I'd ask since you and him might have been close buddies or something...

Re: oh my god...this sux...

im running 7-8 psi RIGHT now, timing is around 24 degrees at 7-8 psi, is this too much? chris (xenocron) made my map.....i thought it was a crankcase ventillation problem, but i just aint sure? :(

Re: oh my god...this sux...

did you ever get it tuned...?

boosted_b16 05-18-2005 01:41 PM

Re: oh my god...this sux...

yeah the fuel map is tuned...never touched the timing.... :-\

Re: oh my god...this sux...

honestly 24* at 8 psi doesn't sound all that bad. what's ur a/f ratio at?

Re: oh my god...this sux...

whats your base timing at. Also have you been reading your plugs for a lean condition

boosted_b16 05-19-2005 10:25 AM

Re: oh my god...this sux...

base timing is stock, and im at about 11.2-11.8 afr's in wot boost, and yes my plugs are nice and golden brown colored... :-\ whats weird is when you take the oil cap off and put your hand over the hole, you can feel crankcase pressure coming out, but you cant feel much of anything coming out of the breather port on the valve cover, so i pulled the valve cover, and blew air back through the port, and i could hear it blowing through the baffles, so i dont think its clogged, i just dont know wtf is going on, im about to call it a lost cause and give up on this thing... :'(
