Try any of the so called dead distributors on another car if possible, the only thing you would be able to fry in a dizzy is the ignition coil, check the wires(colors) of the coil and track them back down to the ECU/power source and see if there is a short somewhere, it may be a pain in the *** process so if you have another engine harness lying around then that would be easier, borrow a friends engine harness and try again, if the same problem happens then its not the dizzy, maybe the ECU? any codes?

im not sure what would be the first thing to go, but maybe check your voltage with the car running. maybe your voltage regulator went and its dumping way too much power and frying your distributor. i would think you would mess somehtign else up before the distributor but its easy to check

Well I was aleady thinking of the voltage, its a long shot but maybe.
I know the dizys are dead because when I throw a diff dizzy in it runs fine for like 10 min.

I checked the dead dizzys and the Ing coil is good so it looks like it has to be the igniters that are bad.

I can see a dizzy going but not 5.

what do we have at the dizz?
2 wires for 1 cyl pos sens

then the big plug. Anyone have a pin out for whats what on that plug?(Im gonna check the manuel at the same time)

The worst part is the car is now sold. I was saposed to deliver it yesterday.

atleast I got it home now but this is going to be a bitch of a weekend

alternator.......check output voltage.

bad regulator = high voltage = fried dizzys.
