OBX LSD9000 Si Unit into GSR S80 Tranny

Hi guys, I'm in need of info for my upcoming transmission rebuild. I recently purchased a OBX LSD locally from where I live. I come to find out that OBX makes 2 different lsd's for the B-series hydro transmissions and the unit I have is the LSD9000 99-00 Si 94-00 LS which is incorrect for my situation. I own a 95 GSR s80 hydro transmission and was wondering if I could still be able to use the differential by using a Si or LS ring gear and bearings? I searched on here but I could not find the answer to my question. If somebody could please help me out I would greatly appreciate all your help. Thank you in advance!

ring gear goes with the shaft
you cant combine different sizes

I'll give you 250 for it

You can use the 99-00 Si ring gear or the 92-93 GSR ring gear. Both are 4.4 FD and have the smaller bolt pattern.

I happen to have one sitting around.

You could either buy it outright or trade me for the GSR ring gear.

;D

So I'm going to have to find a ring gear from a Si and the counter shaft? With this setup will I be able to fit the lsd into my S80 transmission? If that doesn't work out I might be tempted to sell it to you, but maybe a little higher considering that this is a brand new unit.

So you have Si ring gear? would you happen to have the counter shaft? if so I would def trade my ring gear for yours if you have the counter shaft that goes with it.

You don't have to have the counter shaft.

You only have to have the correct ring gear for the correct counter shaft.

ie.

4.4 RG with 4.4 CS

4.266 RG with 4.266 CS

4.785 RG with 4.785 CS and son on.

I put an ITR LSD my GSR YS1 and had to change over to the larger bolt pattern ring gear. All i did was swap in the larger bolt pattern 4.4 ring gear.

The CS and RG are not a paired assembly like the hypoid gears in a standard RWD axle. They are simply helical cut gears so they don't have to be kept as a matched set.

I likely have a small pattern 4.4 ring gear laying around from a 90-91 LS tranny.

So how much would you want for a small pattern 4.4 gear? This would be all I need since the counter shaft for a s80 gsr is 4.4 right?

ASSUMING the tooth cut is the same........$20 shipped.

I have no hydro gearsets to combo with, I gave all that away a year ago.

Shipping alone should be in the $9 range.
