obd2b distributor in a obd1 car
I am swap a motor from a 99 civic to a 95 civic and now I am having issues with the distributor, an OBD1 distributor has 2 plugs with 9 wires, and an OBD2B distributor as 1 plug with 8 wires. on a OBD2B the wire thats missing is the rpm signal wire from the crank flunctuation sensor.
question is has anyone ever use an OBD2B distributor in a OBD1 car? what did you do to get rid of the CEL and make the rpm works? notice I said obd2b 99-00 SOHC distributor. |

Re: obd2b distributor in a obd1 car
ok I figured it out after pulling apart a obd1 distributor , was the easiest thing in the world, the second wire came from the side of the igniter. I've searched everywhere and it seems no one knows this. I was luck to have a junk euro obd1 distributor that has a wierd 6 pin plug that would not plug up to a US harness, so I removed the 2 pin plug and put it in the OBD2B distributor now it looks like it was obd1 to beging with.
