Default obd0 vs. obd1 intake manifold differences

what are the differences between obd0 and obd1 intake manifolds? I searched this place (with our wonderful search feature), honda-tech (because some people think this is honda-tech) and google (because they pwn) and I didn't find a damn thing breaking down the differences between the 2 intake manifolds. I know there's something different with the sensors and such, but it is so much that I can't just run an obd0 intake manifold on an obd1 setup? if I'm tuning with uberdata could I just de-activate any sensor that is different?

MAP sensor on the top of the TB instead of the firewall.

I was hoping it was just a general difference across all motor types. I'm looking for b-series in particular, but d-series would be a nice reference in case I get asked in the future. what I particularly need to know is if I would need to switch the intake manifold from my obd0 b16 to run it on obd1. thanks.

-OBD0 uses the different flange size than OBD1 on the throttle bodys (D-series)

-OBD0 Intake manifolds all use Hold and peak injectors vs OBD1 manifolds that use Saturated style

- Both use the same style intake temp sensor

- OBD0 Idle air control valves are slightly bigger than OBD1 but both use the same connector.

-Castings and shapes on newer style intake manifolds flow better, Example, D16a6 vs a D16z6.. they look the same but the z6 will outflow the a6. B18a obd0 intakes not only look homosexual, some even come with EGR. The later B18/b20b and obd1 manifolds flow much nicer and look better. As far as b16a intake manifolds from obd0~2 They are pretty similar thoughout the years, I really wouldnt say one is better than another.

Anyone else feel free to add

as Jeff mentioned the IACV of obd0 -> obd1 are different sizes. This also relates that a obd1 IACV wont fit on a obd0 intake manifold due to bolt spacing. Im not entirely sure if this relates to d and b series tho.

Then we run into the map sensor issue. Most 92+ use top mount map on the throttle body except

92-93 ls teg
92-93 cable b16a
92-93 d15 dx
93-96 prelude h23

OBD0 B18A1/B16A intake manifolds have both the dashpot valve and also an air boost valve. OBD1/OBD2 versions of these do not have them.

D16A6 intake manifold also has the Dashpot valve. as far as d series goes, the fuel rails all have different mounting positions between OBD0/1/2, and OBD2 has a unique fuel pressure regulator, but OBD0/1 have the same, as well as most b series.

some throttle bodies do not have the fast idle valve or whatever that thign is on the bottom of the throttle body that coolant lines hook up to. Also, the EACV's are different from generation to generation.

OBD1 B18A1 has the exact same intake manifold as the OBD0 B18A1, only the bosses for the dashpot and air boost valve arent drilled and tapped. in 94, with the introduction of the B18B, the manifold became more sleek and rounded.

good info to have, if anyone is building an info archive this would be nice to link to. look like I don't have to worry about switching my intake mani when I switch to obd1
