Notch for TunerToy Clearance .

Does anyone know how much notching is needed on a d16z6 for tunertoy rods , or would i have to take crank, girdle, rods pistons etc, to the machine shop. If theres a certain amount to where i could jus inform my machinest instead of feeding him all these parts, id like to know. Thanx in advance.

Haha a grind stone will fall apart way before you make a dent in a sleeve. You need a carbide burr. They're like $20 at Ace hardware and the things are indestructible. I got a Foley brand I think it was (it came in a red pouch), and with that bitch I did 8 notches in a few minutes.

if you're gonna bore and hone it, should you notch before or after the machine work? ???

machine shop here charges 5 bucks a cylinder for nothing, let them ---- with it

Technically hone after notching, but it really doesn't matter if you use a high grit sand paper or emory board to smooth out the the transition. The rings never get down that far, so a hone really wouldn't be important.
