no traction!!!!!

i was wondering if anybody has the same problem as i do...i recently did a ls (b18a) swap in my crx with J1 tranny. Im running juss an intake. I got 16" rims on and when i launch to race..i launch at from 2 - 2.5 grand and all it does is burn out. i raced an 99 cl and lost to him, i raced again and lauch out at 1800 and beat him..but the pick up is weak. so how should i launch out for a better pick up....

Re:no traction!!!!!

The J1 tranny is geared so ------- short, and with the help of the torque from the b18, I could see why you have a problem.

Your options..

LSD
Custom Adjustable front cross member
Poly all your mounts

and get some good tires..

Good point, negitive camber plays a huge factor in traction issues.

Same problem here b18cspecr in a 93 eg. Full power everything windows door locks full interior and still no traction. I had everything originally stripped out but its my daily driver so that kinda sucked. Best luck I've had are with Kumho 712's. They're cheap and seem to perform pretty well when its dry. I can get a set of 15's for like $140 Only draw back is that they are real soft and they last maybe 4 weekends at short tracks if I'm lucky.

Gearing is too short for my taste, winds out way too fast. I got dusted by the same car a 93 eg running stock motor and 10 lbs of boost.

Solid rear suspension if your hardcore! I tried it out for a few days just to take it to the track, it was pretty fun. It rode like a go-kart, and it'd three wheel going into a driveway with any incline or decline. But at the track it makes a huge improvement if your ass wont squat. My 60 ft's were 2.22 on mismatch used 14" el-cheepo tires. One national champion and one Kirkland signiture
