No Spark... Car just died...

ok this freakn sucks.... yesterday as i was leaving work.. i turned my car on and let it warm up for a minute.. but i noticed a ticking noise... as i opened the hood to check it out... i noticed that one of the spark plug wires was loose and as i was going to push it back into place the car just died... and it would not start anymore.... my guess is either the Ignition Coil.... or the Ignition Control Module took a dump..... what do you guys think..... this ever happen to anyone....

igniter... i take it thats the coil right?????? cause thats what the repair manual says... usually due to false contact, or improperly connected wires.

its not hte coil its teh only other part you can remove from the dizzy W/O clipping wires. its a porcelin piece with 4 connectors on it held by 4 screws.

The igniter is a small flat gray/black rectangle inside your dizzy, Replaced hundreds under waranty in the early 90's. Im assuming you have a 88-95 civic? If I rember correctly there are two versions depending on what distributor you have, weather its tien, or hitatchi. some screws, and a couple of push on blade type connectionsand your set. if you have the right tools, and some mechanical aptitude, you dont even have to pull the dist. if you do have to pull the distributor, make sure you make a mark across the the head, and on to the dist. so you dont have to worry about resetting the timing. a black felt pen works good.
