no power to vtec
ok what i have going on here is we droped this b-16 into my 92 civic dx hatch. and we can not get the vtec to engage. im running a P28 with a chip burnt to engage at stock rpm. and we used the test light and we have no power to the wire for the vetc. we used the sit and rev method to see if it gets power and tried taking it down the road as well. once we tried this and got no vtec we tried a p05 with a chip burned with the complete stock maps. and we still had no vtec or power out of the ecu. we tested the swich with a driect from batt to swich and we could hear the vtec swich. we are completly baffeled as to why we cant get the vtec to engage from the ecu. any ideas? thanks in advance.

Re: no power to vtec
You need to be going over 20 mph, your car needs to be warmed up, and you need sufficient oil pressure in order for vtec to engage. Unless you changed all that on your chip.

Re: no power to vtec
if you have the ability to burn a new chip/edit on the fly, disable all the checks one by one and you'll find the problem

Re: no power to vtec
we had it well over 20 mph. oil pressure is good, and the car is warm. im not sure what all was burned on the chip. my buddy (the ecu and wire guy of the group) burned it. i know he said he had it turn off the pressure swich. im throwing a cel right now b/c i dont have an o2 sensor hooked up. could this cause it not to engauge? and we do have the ability to burn chips at will. man i got way better responses here than i did honda tech.. thanks guys!

Re: no power to vtec
o2 code will be the cause. disable that ---- w/ crome or whatever you are using and try it, bet thats the problem.

Re: no power to vtec
check engine light= no vtec ,or if your from honda tech, = no V-TECH
