Nippon racing vs Vitara pitons
Any opinions on which is better?Going in the usual low budget A6 engine build for boost.I realize these are not forged. Also scat or eagle?Scats i seen as low as 259-269 and eagle seems to be a little more. Thanks im a noob but have been reading/following this forum for year and a half as it was my bible for my first hmt setup.

Re: Nippon racing vs Vitara pitons
They look identical............the Vitara pistons that people run are aftermarket not oem.

Re: Nippon racing vs Vitara pitons
The only thing with Nippon Pistons is you get a greater ragne of compression choices because the have 2-3 different piston domes available.

Re: Nippon racing vs Vitara pitons
Huh...I wonder if it has someting to do w/the material used in Eagle rods? I have been looking around and I haven't found any reason not to use nippons w/eagle rods.

Re: Nippon racing vs Vitara pitons
its the wrist pins

Re: Nippon racing vs Vitara pitons
They are both cast pistons and not worth a damn... If your gonna spend the money on H beam rods, you might as well suck it up and replace the pistons with some Forged units. Because it doesnt take much for a cast piston to break ring lands :-\

Re: Nippon racing vs Vitara pitons
So are the wrist pins too small/big?
|
Re: Nippon racing vs Vitara pitons
with eagles the wrist pins float and the nippon arent designed that way.
the vitaras on the other hand have the circlips |
