neeed help kinda new to the honda

Default neeed help kinda new to the honda

i just bought a 93 civic it has a d15b7,any ways the guy said the ecu fried and he had to replace it with a vtec one,so the car runs fine until about half throttle then it falls on its face till higher up in the rpm's,my question is can i fix it with out replaceing the ecu.also how can i tell what ecu it is.sorry for my stupidity!!!!!!!

look at the label/stamp on the side of the ecu.
you can fix it by putting in a vtec head.
or i'll trade you for a p06 ecu which is the stock one you should be running.
