NEEED HELP FAST
My timing belt is old and I am trying to replace it. I cant get the crankshaft pulley off. Do i need a sepcial tool or what cause it is a pain in the ass. and there are holes in pulley but they dont go through all the way so I can stick a screwdriver through it. HELP

Get a big ------- impact gun on that fucker or a big breaker bar. I know the search function sucks on this site, but there were a few good posts not too long ago.

when I busted my crank nut I had someone get under there and hold a big screw driver inbetween the teeth of the flywheel while I stood on the breaker bar attacked to the crank pulley, that bitch came lose.
what's up with everybody posting tech/fi/other ---- in the gd? you may not get a response within 5 minutes in those other forums, but at least no one's going to bitch at you for posting in the wrong forum. and yes, I know it's the "anything goes" forum, what that means to me is that anything that doesn't belong in the other forums goes here, that ---- belongs over there. |

yeah i know but last time i posted a tech question it took a couple days and i dont have a couple days. so i dont mind getting flamed as long as it also contains good info. also everytime i turn the wrench the crankshaft turns... i cant get it to stay still there is nothing to jam it against.

to do this i dont need to pull out axles right just loosen tranny bolts and slid it back a little.

ok here is the deal.... i was on my way to mc donald's and i got off the interstate and when i went to go again my car lost engine power for .5 secs and then kept going but then I started hearing a ticking noise. I pull over and pull the valve cover and timing belt cover and there is a little peice of loose rubber in the cover. well i get it home and i turb the crank thinking the timing belt is shredded but there isnt any timing belt missing. at all. what does everyone think.. now it idles at 3-400 RPM and when it hits 1800 RPM it acts like its not getting any gas. need opinions? is motor shot?
