Need quick clarification on valve's and firing order! HELP!!!
As some of you may know, I'm animating and constructing a motor in 3D. If you havent seen it, please check it out here: http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=755759 Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how the cams and valves should operate. The firing order for our motors is 1-3-4-2 but here's my question. Lets say cylinder 1 fires. The piston in cylinder 4 is at the identical place vertically but are the valves in cylinder 4 still allowing the compression of air and the expulsion of the compressed non-combusted air? Or, are the intake and exhaust valves in cylinder 4 just held open so that no compression occures? Thanks to anyone who is familiar with this stuff , its starting to confuse me |

Remember its a 4 strokee motor so the other cylinder is at another part of the cycle
