Need help on building d15b7
 

I want to build my d15b7 for boost and i was just doing some searches for pistons and rods and i found nothing, everything i found was for 1.6 not 1.5, if anyone knows of some good rods/pistons i could search for it would be a great help also i would like to find some valve springs and retainers. im trying to run about 18 psi and would just like some help to get in the right direction. thanx alot

if you really wanna put 3x the $$ into the b7 than its worth then go ahead, the rods can be had for around $700, pistons, well, thats nothing major, sleeves $1000, then the rest of the basic rebuild, lets say $600. still sound like a good idea???

so the best idea is to just go d16z6 swap then build it up for boost??

thats purely my opinion, start w/ a more supported engine, even if the z6 isnt it, you could always do zc vtec or d15b vtec. both use d16 rods, pistons for the d15b are a little tougher to find, but there out there.

if you are strapped for cash then get a d16a6. use your harness and accessories and get rid of the b7.

well accually i have an a6 and si trans in my shed w/ ecu and axles what all will i need for the swap ?? since its a obd0 engine to obd1 car just a harness or changing some wires around i have no clue because i didnt think that would work because it was an older engine, oh and what about the mounts will they work?

oh by the way this is for a 1995 civic lx 4dr i want to do a built sleeper thats why i wanted to use the stock engine and hide the turbo and the front mount and charcge piping like it was done in this magazine i seen, the factory heat shield modifyed a little to hide the turbo, painted front mount black and didnt cut bumper, and the charge piping was ran through the factory airbox and tubing, like not using it but running metal pipe inside of it with the bov inside the airbox it was awesome and it was making like 280 hp or somthing it was pretty awsome cause no one would expect a 4dr with a d inside that looks completley stock to be anywhere near as fast as it was capable of being. any way i will just go with the d16a6 since it is easier, cheaper, and alot more support for it to. i doubt anyone will pay too much attention if it has the factory airbox and all, oh and another thing if i used a hf can i retain my a/c with a .42 .48 t-3 turbo mounted to it with a adapter plate from bmc race?? thanx for all the help!!!

just use the a6 longblock. (it's basically a d16z6 block w/flat top pistons, d15b7 head w/better cam)
use your d15b7 wiring harness, thermostat housing, tranny, axles, intake and throttle body, ecu.

you would have to make your own adapter plate to angle the turbo for a/c & p/s. the dp would be a sharp bend too.
if you have the hf mani and turbo you can figure it out.

well i have a stage 5 clutch specialties 6 puck unsprung clutch laying around i was going to use thats why i was going to use my si tranny and i also thought si trannys had better gears in them. i dont think this clutch will work with the b7 tranny so what will be different to use the si tranny just the trans and axles?
