180k LS motor, ticks/tocks/tapping noise whats you want to call it - only happens under load only for the 1st mile or so of car being cold


should i boost it anyways :1

 

plan on it today when i get my gauge back from a friend, but the motor feels really strong, stronger then my swapped civic did with 200 on all 4, we'll see.

whoop sounds like valve lash problem is it a pretty loud knocking or a small tick really fast if its a loud knock and it sounds like its coming from the head check you rod bearings lol eitherwise if it small fast little tics do a valve lash cause when your engine is warm the valve lash will sit in place but when its cold it will sing back to its original set iono cant explain SeaRCH

 

wtf you some kind of ****** boy ? its the valves so check your rod bearings ?? i say we could all guess but the only way to find out is to get your fingers dirty

Piston slap. Don't worry about it a lot of motors do it. Just make sure you have a decent PCV system once you boost it.

 

The only ------- question was 'should I boost it?' The answer is 'yes.' ---- off and go to hell.
