ya its a 12mm and you need a pickle fork to jam in between the ball joint and hammer it lose.if you are replacing it make sure you get a castle nut so you can throw a cotter pin in there. kthx bye

Or a nice 3 pound hammer and good positioning, Balljoints are not so hard.

Or, jack it up by the hub, compressing the spring, and put like the large craftsman ratched in between the control arm and the hub, and then lower the jack fast. Makes the spring separate it for u, and saves your ball join boots. pickleforks = death

thread the nut on it about 5 or 6 turns and beat them shits with a hammer

best way to do it, I've torn too many boots with a pickle fork

I prefer air hammer. ;D

Using a large hammer and hit nice and solid (hard) on the side of the control arm closest to the threads, but not the threads, you can split it pretty easy, if its not working, put your purse down Sally... No really, put a prybar between the spindle and control arm, put force on it so its like you are trying to seperate w/ prybar only, but then hit the control arm as your prying. It will split right apart. If you are reusing the balljoint, make 100% sure you dont booger the threads up, you wont get the nut back on, maybe if you have a good impact gun, but still very bad idea cross threading ----. If youre replacing the BJ, just smack the end :P

Then again, cross threads are better than no threads right :S
